2022: Omicron, the Economy, Supply Chain Finance Problems and Green Finance
Carsten Brzeski was this weeks guest on the „Digital Dump“ podcast series. The current episode from 14.01.2022 is about Carsten Breszki and his view in 2022. The Global Head of Macro Research and Chief Economist Eurozone at ING was talking to Kate Pohl, Head of Banking & Partner Strategy and Execution bei Traxpay GmbH such as Steven Batiste, CTO of TIS, from „Digital Dump“ Podcast series.
Every Friday, Steven Batiste’s and Kate Pohl’s “Digital Dump” podcast is all about the world of technology. They goal is to demystify the magic word “TECH” and make the complex transparent and easy to understand – not only for experts, but for everyone.
In the current episode, the focus is on Carsten Brezski and his very interesting and rich background including how he „rolled“ into economics. He was quite upbeat about the future but sees the 2021 themes as the same as the ones for 2021.
He doesn´t feel that Omicron becomes a game changer. He is confident that we will get through the pandemic, even if it brought various challenges and changes. Asia does, however, pose a risk to the economy with their zero covid strategy as it is affecting the global supply chains. But the order books e.g. in Europe are full to overflowing so as the supply chain issues become less critical later this year, we should see a real uptick. Government spending will increase, also to support the green transition. This will require significant investment.
Should we be worried about inflation and what are the 3 D´s? Is Artificial intelligence the key technology today? What about the future work… will a robot be defining my job in the future?
